Hurry! Medicare Annual Election Ends Soon

We know everyone is busy with holiday preparations right now, but have you taken the time to evaluate your Medicare options and make the necessary changes? You have the chance to do this each year during Medicare’s Annual Election Period, but that window of opportunity closes soon. The Annual Election Period runs from October 15 to December 7 each year, and you don’t want to miss out. Here’s what you need to do right away, so that you can ensure that you’re enrolled in the right Medicare plan for your needs.

First, read the Annual Notice of Change that should have arrived in your mailbox back in September. This letter notifies you of any upcoming changes to your Medicare plan, so that you can make the appropriate decisions. If you can’t find your notice, call your plan administrator right away.

Then, prepare a list of your current prescriptions (so that we can check coverage for them on different plans) and make a note of your preferred providers, too. When we consult with you, we want to make sure that you can continue to seeing your favorite doctors or accessing the faciliities you prefer.

And finally, gather any statements you’ve received from your Medicare plan administrator this year. These statements inform you of your out-of-pocket expenditures, and can help us to understand your personal spending on healthcare. If we see ways that you can reduce those expenses, we can point you toward them!

Once you’ve gathered this information and have an idea of your healthcare priorities, give us a call. It’s always free to discuss your Medicare options with a licensed broker, who can help you compare different Medicare plans. We can help you decide if your current plan is serving your needs well, or if a different plan might be a better fit for you.

But remember: Medicare Annual Election Period does end on December 7. Give us a call right away so that we can get started.
